2026–2028 Medical & Surgical Technician Class
Welcome
Congratulations on your selection as a 2026–2028 Medical & Surgical Technician with Vision Care Partners.
You were chosen from a competitive group of applicants based on your demonstrated potential as a future medical professional. This 26-month fellowship is designed to provide structured exposure to ophthalmic surgery, clinical care, and patient experience at a high level.
Preparing for Your Start
In advance of your arrival in St. Louis, there are several preparatory steps that can be completed at your discretion.
These steps are not required prior to your start date. However, technicians who complete them in advance are typically able to transition into clinical responsibilities more quickly, as certain items (including uniforms) require lead time.
Any remaining items may be completed during clinic work time after you begin.
Administrative Setup (ADP)
You will receive an email from ADP with instructions to complete payroll setup. This may be completed in advance or after your start date.
Uniform Preparation
Clinical work requires a complete uniform. Because uniforms are ordered and prepared in advance, many technicians choose to determine sizing prior to arrival so they can begin clinical activities on their first day.

Finalizing Fit
Technicians typically use one of the following approaches:
Option A (most common):
Order multiple sizes, confirm fit at home, and submit final selections
Option B:
Confirm sizing during a pre-start visit or after arrival
Scrubs require approximately three weeks for ordering and embroidery. Technicians may not engage in direct patient care until their full uniform is received.
Pre-Start Informational Visit
An optional visit may be scheduled prior to your start date:
This visit is an opportunity to become familiar with the environment and ask questions. Some technicians also use this time to review scrub sizing.
A complimentary dilated eye exam ($240 for the public) is available during this visit if desired. If interested, you may also learn if you are a candidate for any of our procedures: https://brintonvision.com/
Start of Clinical Responsibilities
If uniforms are not finalized prior to your start date, you may still begin work and instead support phone operations or participate in training and structured onboarding activities.
Clinical and surgical responsibilities begin once your full uniform is available, whether on your start date or after uniforms are received and embroidery is completed (typically within 2–3 weeks of final sizing).
Employment Agreement
Please sign and return your employment agreement by Tuesday, May 12, 2026 to confirm your acceptance of the position.
You may return the agreement by mail or bring it with you to a pre-start visit.
